William “Bill” Odenweller, 103, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born in December 1921 in Kalida, Ohio, Bill was a proud World War II veteran and a man of quiet strength and deep kindness. He grew up during the Great Depression and experienced both the joys of a large, loving family and the heartache of early losses, including his father at a young age and two teenage sisters.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Mary Skillern of Houston, TX; son, Tim Odenweller of San Francisco, CA; grandsons Aaron Klenk of Tyler Texas and Matt Skillern of Houston, TX; granddaughters, Roxanne Christensen of Windsor, CA, and Rachel Odenweller of Sausalito, CA; and three great-granddaughters, Angie, Sloane and Harlow.
He was a loving father, a devoted grandfather, and a generous friend who lived with honesty, humility, and compassion. Bill gave freely of himself and expected nothing in return. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held graveside on August 28 in Kalida, Ohio, at the Kalida St. Michael’s Cemetery.
