RONALD J. MOENING

 Ronald J. Moening, age 77, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Emergency Room at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio.
 Ronald was born on September 14, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to John Kenneth and Phyllis (Webken) Moening, and they preceded him in death. Ronald married Joan Welly on July 10, 1999, and she survives in Forest, Ohio.
 Ron is also survived by 2 daughters, Amanda (Mike Welker) Moening of Bucyrus, Bernadette (Avery II) Dyer of Plattsburg, MO, 2 step daughters, Jennifer (Jim King) Dean and Jessica (Shane) Canterbury, both of Sevierville, TN, and 12 grandchildren.
 Ron is also survived by his siblings, Linda (Stephen) Nienberg of Ottawa, Paul Moening of Kalida, Leonard Moening of Kalida, Marilyn “Myrt” Sehlhorst of Ottawa, Kathy (John) Leap of Ottawa, and Patty (Dale) Winkle of Kalida, brother-in-law Joe Sehlhorst of Ottawa, and many nieces and nephews.
 Ron was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Heather Moening, brother Stephen Moening, and sister Barbara Sehlhorst.
 Ronald graduated from Kalida High School in 1966 and was then drafted into the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam. Ronald worked for the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 30 years, until his retirement in 1999. In retirement, Ronald worked for Ray Marshal Motorsports, which fueled his love of cars, especially his black Chevrolet truck.
 Ron was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Riverdale Lions Club, where he was treasurer, life member of AMVETS, life member of VFW, Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge #1093, and American Legion Post 0344.
 A funeral mass for Ronald Moening will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kirby, Ohio, and will be officiated by Father Savio Manavalan OFM Conv. Visitations for Ronald will be held from 3:00 7:00 pm at the Church on Friday, and 10:00 11:00 am on Saturday, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, prior to the service.
 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Riverdale Community Lions Club, or a charity of the donor’s choice, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
