OTTAWA Phyllis Ann
Frey, 78, of Ottawa, died
Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at
Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born August 7, 1945, in Putnam County to the late Vincent and Lucy (Frank) Kaufman. On May 29, 1965, she married her greatest gift, the love of her life, Robert F. Frey III. Surviving are two children: Robert IV (Tammy) Frey of McComb and Deana (Scott) Salsburey of Ottawa; eight grandchildren: Breanna (Aaron) Scarberry, Robert Frey V, Riley Frey, Mallory Salsburey, Taylor (Cody) Dukes, Kaydree
Frey, Brandon Frey, Kadon Frey; two greatgrandchildren: Gavin Scarberry, and Avery Dukes; one brother: John Kaufman of Ottawa; three sisters: Irene Morman of Ottawa, Rosemary (Tom) Wolke of
Glandorf and Joyce Yant of Ottawa; two sisters-in-law: Lenora Kaufman of Ottawa, and Carol Kaufman of Glandorf. She is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Frey; five brothers: Richard, Virgil, Ralph, Harold and Tom Kaufman; two brothers-in-law: Paul Morman and Ron Yant; and three sisters-in-law: Kathleen Kaufman, Carol Kaufman, and Irene Kaufman. Phyllis was a 1963 graduate of Ottawa High School. She had worked at various retail establishments in Ottawa. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and a member of the Ottawa VFW auxiliary. Phyllis was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished every holiday together with her family, especially Christmas. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Father Scott Kramer officiating. The family will be present at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
