LEIPSIC – Lambert Rodriguez II, 87, of Leipsic, passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born May 5, 1938, in Hebbronville, TX to the late Lamberto and Consuelo (Rios) Rodriguez. On April 11, 1956, he married Teresa Amador, who preceded him in death on July 28, 2016.
Lambert is survived by seven children: Roy Rodriguez, Linda (David Cook) Guevara, both of Leipsic, Rene (Rosemary) Rodriguez of Ft. Worth, TX, Lambert Rodriguez III, of Mesquite, TX, Mary Alice (John Reed) Rodriguez of Miller City, John (Lisa) Rodriguez and Monica Garcia, both of Leipsic; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren: Bentley Schroeder, Harper Schroeder, Landon Rue, Paxton Rue, Eastlyn Rue, Ayla Selby, Grey Herron, Briar Punches, Dray Rodriguez, Leo Zuniga, Luke Rodriguez, Rory Rodriguez, Addy Rodriguez, Emila Rodriguez and Romy Rodriguez; four siblings: Rudy (Mary) Rodriguez of Columbus, Raquel Valdez of Leipsic, Richard (Maria) Rodriguez of Houston, TX and Rebecca (File) Garcia of Edcouch, TX; and a brother-in-law, Homer Gutierrez.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Robert “Bobby” Rodriguez; three siblings: John Rodriguez, Minerva Gutierrez and Mary Rodriguez; and a brother-in-law, Deacon Ben Valdez.
Lambert proudly retired from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, where he served as Sergeant. He loved his career in law enforcement. Lambert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic. He was an avid fan of westerns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Duke and Texas Longhorns. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on his front porch, watching people drive by. Lambert loved his family and was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and again on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Life Center, Leipsic.
