GLANDORF Kathleen “Katie” Jones, 79 of Glandorf, died 5:06 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2024 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born October 24, 1944 in Lima to the late Albert and Genevieve (Kuhlman) Deters. She married Terry Jones in 1968 and he died in 1977. Survivors include two sons: Brian Jones of Glandorf and Brent Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; four siblings: Marilyn Schnabel of Ft. Lauderdale, Elaine Stoepfel of Glandorf, Lois (Tom) Baratko of Springboro and Terry Deters of Lebanon; three sistersinlaw: Marilyn Marsh of Michigan, Deana Basnett of North Carolina, Roberta Stone of South Carolina; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three siblings: Carolyn Deters, Bill Deters and Annette (Phillip) Gorman; and two brothers-in-law: Keith Schnabel, Mark Stoepfel. Katie was a nurse’s aide at Putnam Acres and Putnam Heritage. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society. Katie was a great caregiver, teacher and religious education teacher. No one had a bigger heart. She was a wonderful aunt who treated her nieces and nephews as her own and loved traveling to Florida to visit with family and friends.

She was very spiritual and prayed the rosary regularly. Funeral mass will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church Monday.
