GLANDORF Jeanette Heckman, 95, of Glandorf, passed away at 11:45 a.m., February 27, 2025 at The Meadows of Ottawa. Jeanette was born December 24, 1929 in Lima, to the late Leo J. and Margaret (Feltman) Maag. On February 13, 1954, she married her best friend and love of her life, Richard Heckman, and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2006.

Also surviving are her in-laws: Tom (Linda) Heckman, and Chris Heckman, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by 5 brothers: Cornelius Maag, Leonard (Pat) Maag, Alvin (Betty) Maag, Alphonse (Mary Margaret) Maag, Donnie Maag; 2 sisters: Esther (Oscar) Vennekotter and Alvera (Walter) Laubenthal; and in-laws: Ruth Maag, John Thomas, Carol (Ralph) Kaufman, Rosalie (Charlie) Borer and Kenny Heckman.
Jeanette retired from Philips in Ottawa and was happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She thoroughly loved family gatherings, playing euchre and poker with her kids and grandkids, and spending time in the screenhouse. Many memories were made and will be held dear by her family. As a great cook and baker, she enjoyed making favorite desserts, such as peach pie, chocolate chip cookies, and carrot cake, but everyone was the most excited for her roasted chicken and homemade noodle dinners. An avid OG basketball fan, she and Dick listened to the radio at home and kept stats during the game for as long as the family can remember. She loved OSU sports and the Cincinnati Reds, often watching with her kids. Jeanette and Dick loved camping, and also traveled throughout the states, visiting all but three. Jeanette was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society. Her strong faith led her to pray the rosary several times a day.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff in the Memory Care unit at The Meadows, and Putnam County Hospice, for all their compassion and kindness shown while caring for Jeanette.
