Irene Margaret Morman

OTTAWA – Irene Morman, 93, of Ottawa, passed away at 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at The Meadows of Ottawa with her loving family by her side. She was born February 26, 1932, and was one of 10 children of the late Vincent and Lucy (Frank) Kaufman. On August 7, 1951, Irene married Paul U. Morman, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2006.
 Irene is survived by 6 children: Debra Haas of Findlay, Bill (Lynn) Morman of Ottawa, Bob (Peg) Morman of Ottawa, Chuck (Sylvia) Morman of Leipsic, Amy (Scott) Smith of Hilliard and Ann Morman of Findlay; 1 daughter-in-law, Patti Morman; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Rosemary (Tom) Wolke and Joyce Yant; 1 brother, John Kaufman; 1 brother-in-law, Robert Frey; 2 sisters-in-law: Lenora Kaufman and Carol Kaufman; and many nieces and nephews.
 Irene was a 1950 graduate of Leipsic High School. She was a waitress at the Black Angus in Kalida. When all children were of school age, she became a cook at the Ottawa-Glandorf Schools for many years. She enjoyed being head cook at Ottawa Elementary. The teachers and students loved her and her cooking, especially her homemade pies. After she retired, she worked for the Council on Aging. Irene enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and playing euchre. Everyone always looked forward to Grandma’s noodles at family gatherings.
 She was preceded in death by 2 sons: Steve Morman and Jeff Morman; 5 brothers: Rich Kaufman, Virgil Kaufman, Harold Kaufman, Ralph Kaufman and Tom Kaufman; 1 sister, Phyllis Frey; 11 sisters-in-law: Irene Kaufman, Kit Kaufman, Carol Kaufman, Mary Jacob, Eleanor Clymer, Lucille Morman, Margaret Morman, Betty Morman, Bernice Morman, Bertha Morman and Agnes Morman; 8 brothers-in-law: Walter Morman, Elmer Morman, Victor Morman, Edward Morman, Harold Morman, Harry Morman, John Clymer and Ron Yant; 1 daughter-in-law, Julie Carpenter Bormuth; 1 great grandchild, Kierra LaShae Morman; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Israel Bullock.
 She was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
 The family would like to thank the staff of The Meadows of Ottawa as well as the staff of Putnam County Homecare and Hospice for all your love and support.
 A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer and Fr. Jim Morman officiating with Deacon Eric Kaufman assisting. The Mass will be livestreamed by Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa and one hour prior to Mass on Saturday at the church. There will be a scripture service at 6:50 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
