OTTAWA Gary M. Brinkman, 70, of Ottawa died at 8:55 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Meadows of Ottawa. He was born March 20, 1954, in Lima to the late Cornelius A. “Cornie” and Genevieve C. “Jenny” (Michel) Brinkman.
He is survived by a daughter, Angie Sanderson of Columbia City, IN; 2 grandchildren: Maxwell Sanderson and Maddelyn Sanderson, both of Columbia City; 6 siblings: Ruth (Bill) Storing of Clearfield, UT, Mark (Ruth) Brinkman of Glandorf, Jane (Dave) Ripley of Ottawa, Judy Cuevas of Ottawa, Lynn (Raymond) Dible of Carey and Mary (Frank) Mullins of Ottawa; 3 step-brothers and step-sisters; step-mother: Jeannette (Maas) Busack of Ottawa and sister-in-law: Joyce Brinkman of Leipsic.
Gary is preceded in death by a sister: Martha Brinkman, 3 brothers: Harold Brinkman, Carl Brinkman and Jim (Cheryl) Brinkman; and 4 step-brothers.
Gary retired from Verhoff Machine and Welding, Continental, where he had been a welder. He enjoyed golfing and riding his bike. He could often be found attending O-G basketball games. He loved following the Cleveland Cavs, Browns, and Guardians.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. There will be a private burial at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lovefuneralhome.com.
