EDEN MARIE LASLEY

Eden Marie Lasley, 23, of Findlay, passed away suddenly on September 16, 2024, as a result of a cartrain accident. She was born on January 5, 2001, the daughter of Steve Lasley and Kristen (Kauble) Lasley. Both parents survive, along with her stepfather, Brian Kohli. Born and raised in Findlay, Ohio, Eden attended Findlay schools all the way up until recently graduating from the University of Findlay with honors with a degree in education. Eden was passionate about teaching the younger generation, especially those with special needs. In her own words: “I love having the responsibility of making a change in our future generations by teaching children the importance of love, grace, and kindness.”

She adored working with children through her work tutoring, teaching, and working at the child development center at the YMCA. She was most recently employed by ADS as a customer service representative, later promoted to order validation representative. She genuinely enjoyed her role there and the camaraderie shared with her coworkers. Eden truly had a sense of adventure and loved taking all kinds of trips with her boyfriend, Trey Shisler. She had a deep affection for animals and shared her home with several beloved pets, including her cats Poe, Nyssa, and Raysh; dogs, Dio and Fiona; and Vegeta the chinchilla. She loved spending time outdoors, dancing, and singing. She also loved to express her creativity through beautiful paintings and drawings. Eden will be remembered for being a genuine and beautiful person, inside and out.

She was truly a pure soul and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She touched countless lives during her short life and always knew how to make everyone feel loved and understood. Her nonjudgmental and warmhearted approach to life will continue to serve as an inspiration. Not only was she kind, but she was highly intelligent and a fast learner. She once starred in a commercial at six years old and nailed it on the first take. Her family would like to show thanks to her many “moms and dads” who have been providing comfort and peace to them during this difficult time. While there are too many to name, know that you are all seen and deeply appreciated. Eden was kind and compassionate all the way to the end of her life. She made the selfless decision to become an organ donor, a decision that will help and heal countless lives.

In addition to her parents, stepfather, and boyfriend, Eden is survived by her brother, Gage Lasley; grandparents Valerie Miller, Pat Lasley, Joyce Kohli, and Mike Kauble; her goddaughter, Ellie Crouse; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, George Lasley, and her great-grandmothers Martha Weber and Betty Kauble. Visitation for Eden will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Avenue, Findlay, OH 45840, from 11 am until 1 pm. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 1 pm, officiated by Pastor Laurie Peterson.

The family kindly requests that guests wear comfortable, casual attire. The celebration of her life will continue immediately after the service at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. A private burial will occur at a later date. Memorial contributions in Eden’s honor can be gifted to the Hancock County Humane Society or the HOPE Clinic in Upper Sandusky. Hanneman Funeral Homes is honored to serve the Lasley family.
