OTTAWA – Eddie Leal, 49, of Ottawa, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 20, 1975, in Harlingen, TX to Alberto Sr. and Maria (Esquivel) Leal. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Ottawa. On August 31, 2017, he married Denise (Bockrath) Leal of Glandorf, who survives in Ottawa.
 Other survivors include six beautiful children: Breanna Leal of Salt Lake City, UT, Brandon Bockrath of Ottawa, Brady Leal of Ocala, FL, Bradley Bockrath, Braden Bockrath and Isabella Leal, all of Ottawa.
 In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Alberto Leal, Jr.
 Eddie worked for 13 years as a welder/fabricator at Remlinger Manufacturing, Kalida and made many great friendships during that time. He enjoyed riding his Harley and cleaning cars. He loved spending time with his family and friends and could put a smile on everyone’s face. Eddie felt as if his family was everything and would do anything for them. He always said time was precious and to never take anything for granted. Eddie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
 Funeral services will begin 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
