Dorothy M. Schmenk

 OTTAWA Dorothy M. Schmenk, 100, of Ottawa passed away at 9:50 p.m., Sunday, September 21, 2025, at The Meadows of Ottawa. She was born November 28, 1924, in Glandorf to the late Urban and Mary (Giesken) Quinn. On April 9, 1947, she married Norman H. Schmenk, who preceded her in death on January 21, 1972.
 She is survived by a son, Robert “Bob” (Cathy) Schmenk of Napoleon; four grandchildren: Heather (Dave) Sanford, Emily Sopha, Cara (Charlie) Wright and Kyle Schmenk; five great-grandchildren: Jacob Sopha, Vivien Sopha, Ethan Schmenk, Sophia Schmenk and Elizabeth Sanford; a brother, Jack Quinn of Columbus; a sister, Betty (Paul) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; and a sister-in-law, Ruthie Quinn of Glandorf.
 In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five brothers: Cletus “Jake” (Dorothy) Quinn, Louis (Ruth) Quinn, Carl (Skip) Quinn, Dick Quinn, Bob (Marty) Quinn; six sisters: Margaret (Ray) Stechschulte, Mary Louise (Paul) Deters, Jeanette (John) Bowers, Clarine (Carl) Wilhelm, Mary Jane (Gene) Stechschulte and Emma Delores Quinn (infant); and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Quinn.
 Dorothy was a homemaker and former waitress for the Glandorf Inn where she worked for 12 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland, where she served as a lector and eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. Dorothy was involved with the Ottawa Senior Center, really enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was an avid fan of the Duke Blue Devils. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Fr. Scott Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
