Christine A. (Kukay) Slattman, 74, of Continental, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and beloved dog, Dolly.
She was born July 29, 1950, in Port Clinton to the late Clarence and Carolyn (Earls) Kukay. On March 9, 1994, she married Ron Slattman, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2008. Christine is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Todd) Kortokrax of Haviland; three grandchildren: Brittany Motycka of Grover Hill, Ryan (Kait) Kortokrax of Louisville, Ohio and Dannielle (Dave Will iamson) Kortokrax of Delphos; four greatgrandchildren: Brantley, Colton, Emmalee and Addison; four siblings: Cathy (Tom) Wagley of Pickerington, Carol Jo McCumber, Carleen (Tom) Balduf, both of Port Clinton and Brian (Tiffany) Kukay of Marblehead; her significant other Dale Seegert of Continental; four stepchildren: Ronald “Chip” (Tammy Sexton) Slattman of Grover Hill, Janelle (Dwayne) Nienberg of Dupont, Darla (Ben) Moran of Continental and Debby (Bruce) Bostelman of Defiance; and ten step-grandchildren: Lillie, Dwayne, Lizzey, Tabby, Lainey, Grace, Laila, Chelsea, Bret, and Bryce. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Stan McCumber. Christine worked as a teller for State Bank in Oakwood and was a life member of Continental American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed hummingbirds, cooking, online shopping, her Ford Mustang Convertibles and traveling to Marblehead Lighthouse State Park and Firekeepers Casino. Christine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, step-grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her dear friend Bobbi Scott, and Putnam County Homecare and Hospice for their exceptional care of mom during this difficult time. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor Chuck Schmunk officiating. Burial will follow at St. Isidore, Cuba. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Justice Animal Rescue (J.A.R.) in Grover Hill.
