Pandora, planes… and planetary peace (Part II)

PANDORA In a previous edition, it was explained that Pandora’s Joey Cherry is one of what’s referred to as “Logistic Leads” on a highly-complex, ongoing (since early on in the Cold War) military operation to link America’s National Command Authority with the US’s “nuclear triad.” The project is called TACAMO. This, in short, entails keeping several Navy E-6B Mercury aircraft at the ready, if incoming nuclear missiles are detected. In this case, a series of protocols are in place to get the president, or vice president, and so on, into one of these planes and out of the harm’s way of the missiles. In turn, messages will be sent from the plane to America’s nuclear submarines, missile silos and bombers, in regard to the level of a retaliatory strike, etc.

Commissioners recognize April as National  Second Chance month

April is National Reentry Month — a time each year where we focus on the need to support those who are returning home after an incarceration experience. Putnam county Commissioners have signed a proclamation recognizing April as National Second Change Month in Putnam County. Every year, the Putnam County Reentry Coalition shares the statistics that demonstrate that the need for support is great. Every year, they highlight events and opportunities to learn more. But, engaging with, and caring for those who are returning home is a 24/7 experience. We walk with returning neighbors as they find places to live, put clothes on their backs, receive care for physical and mental health, and connect with their home communities. We assist with obtaining driver’s licenses, birth certificates, and Social Security cards they might reestablish their true identities. We encourage continuing education and pursuing gainful employment. We offer them a listening ear when grief and frustration need to be expressed. More importantly, we celebrate with our returning neighbors when milestones are reached as they engage with society once again. (Photo submitted)

Pandora Council looking at water bill forgiveness ordinance change

PANDORA—A village ordinance amendment was proposed after a resident found over 35 inches of water in the basement of their recently purchased home. The homeowner, who moved to the community in October, discovered a crack in the check valve of their water-powered backup sump pump which caused village water to spray into their sump basin unchecked for an extended period of time, allowing 35,100 gallons of water to leak through the pump in February, for which the homeowner received a bill of $536.79.
