CONTINENTAL — The Continental Fall Festival was well-attended last weekend with plenty to do. Friday featured a karaoke contest and Deep Cuts. Saturday’s car show set a record with 167 vehicles, beating last year’s record of 161. Plenty of candy was thrown in Saturday’s parade, there was a poker run, a 5k/10k Wyatt’s Walk, a sidewalk chalk art contest, a performance by the Continental High School band, line dancing lessons, touch-a-truck and Saw Crush performed live. On the Farm and In the Garden:

While organizers aren’t yet ready to call it a record year, some are referring to it as phenomenal. Participants went through 110 pizzas, 5,450 burgers, 1,700 bratwurst sausages, 2,350 pounds of potatoes for Lions Club french fries, 15 gallons of dill pickles, 300 barbecued chicken dinners (in 38 minutes), over 75 gallons of ice cream, 300 pounds of chicken gizzards and 8 massive kettles of bean soup! PANDORA – Some people have gardens in their backyard and like to grow vegetables. A Pandora woman has something different. She has a butterfly house and enjoys raising Monarchs and Black Eastern Swallowtails.

OTTAWA — The main doors of Sts. Peter & Paul School in Ottawa were emblazoned with hand-drawn highlights of Camp Invention, providing an indication that entering through them would reveal a special educational opportunity.

Community members and business leaders in Columbus Grove were invited to an organizational update and lunch by Putnam County YMCA Executive Director Aaron Baumgartner to discuss the progress of an expansion of the YMCA in the village, which was announced in March of 2024.
