In March of this year the American Red Cross published training about using chest compressions as a part of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and how important maintaining the proper compression rate is to the patient’s survival. How those compression rates are remembered have been a secret among paramedics for years, but the training reveals the ironic truth that “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees, with its 103 beats per minute, is an ideal rhythm for CPR.
