LEIPSIC Carolyn “Annie” Gable, 88, of Leipsic, passed away at 4:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at her residence. She was born May 22, 1936, in Lima to the late Richard and Helen (Halker) Zeller. On January 24, 1959, she married Elmer Gable, who preceded her in death on October 27, 2013. Carolyn is survived by five children: Julia (Byron) Maag, Tim (Diane) Gable, Barbara (Tom) Deepe, Tom (Pam) Gable and Diane (Donald) Schmenk, all of Leipsic; MawMaw’s 18 grandchildren: Shane (Jodi) Maag, Abby (John) Verhoff, Cara (Eric) Drummelsmith, Ben (Alison) Gable, Dustin (Alex Harden) Gable, Scott (Brittany) Gable, Cody (Samantha) Gable, Ciara (Dylan) Ellerbrock, Mitchell (Blake) Gable, Alaina (Lance Taylor) Deepe, Corey Deepe, Katelyn (Andy) Niese, Kevin (Sarah) Gable, Kiana Gable, Kaleb Gable, Anna (Craig) Higbea, Michael (Tessa) Schmenk and Holly (John) Klein; MawMaw Ice Cream’s 31 great-grandchildren: Isaac, Wyatt, Claire, Ryan, Megan, Mackenzie, Madison, Isabella, Coralie, Wesley, Ruby, Heath, Margot, Griffin, Nora, Eleanor, Gracie, Emeline, Deliah, Harper, Aurora, Ivy, Mya, Drew, Molly, Landon, Henry, Alice, George, Mabel, Audrey and two more on the way; one great-great-grandchild on the way; three siblings: her twin Marilyn McDermitt, Dennis (Kay) Zeller and Miriam Brinkman; brother-in-law, Jack Jolliff; close sister-in-law, Janet Gable; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Deepe; four siblings: Pat Morman, Sharon Jolliff, Richard Zeller and Pam Risner; brothers-in-law: Jack McDermitt, Richard Brinkman, Larry Morman and Charles Risner; and sister-in-law, Margaret Zeller.
Carolyn was a graduate of St. John’s Catholic High School, Lima and St. Rita’s School of Nursing, where she obtained her nursing degree in 1957. She then worked for her family dairy farm and served on the Farm Bureau focus groups with Elmer. She also served as the 6th grade Religion Teacher for Miller City/New Cleveland School for 50+ years. Carolyn was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland and its Rosary Altar Society, as well as the Golden Steppers. She loved spending time with family at Hemlock Lake. She was very devoted to her family, friends, farm, food and faith. Carolyn loved with all her heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Fr. Scott Perry and Fr. Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at LOVEHEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic. A rosary service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
