Blanche T. Stechschulte, 91, of Columbus Grove, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Lima, Ohio. She was born on August 9, 1933, in Glandorf, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Cecilia (Schroeder) Schroeder. On April 7, 1953, she married Karl S. Stechschulte who preceded her in death in 2021.
She is survived by children, Kenneth (Doris) Stechschulte, Donald (Diana) Stechschulte and Mary (Doug) Langhals; daughters-in-law, Mary Ann Stechschulte and Tracy (Paul Woodruff) Stechschulte; brothers, Gib Schroeder, Dan (Jean) Schroeder, Leo (Rita) Schroeder; sisters, Margaret Stechschulte, Helen Aelker, Mary (Robert) Wildenhaus, Kate Verhoff and Anne (James) Dotzhauer; 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. She was also preceded in death by sons, Dennis Stechschulte and Wayne Stechschulte; sister, Joanne Maag, brothers-in-law, Maurice “Mo” Stechschulte, Bill Aelker, Melvin Verhoff and Dessie Maag; sister-in-law, Judy Schroeder and grandson, Ryan Stechschulte.
Blanche was a graduate of Glandorf High School, Class of 1952. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm, and she also did alterations for Stechschulte Clothing. They both volunteered at St. Rita’s Medical Center for 12 years and they distributed Communion at Hilty Memorial Home for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society, and she served on the Putnam County Farm Bureau Board. Blanche crocheted many afghans and doilies for her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, June 23, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, OH with FR. David Ritchie officiating with visitation one hour prior at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home 10879 SR OH-12 Columbus Grove. Visitation is also on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1-7 pm at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home with a rosary service to follow. Burial at St. Anthony Cemetery.
