Bernice A. Candler, 99, of Columbus Grove, passed away on Thursday May 22, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on May 7, 1926, in Columbus Grove, to the late Clarence and Clara (Bendele) Miller. On August 13, 1947, she married, Carl J. “Dusty” Candler, who preceded her in death on December 31, 1989. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Rita’s until her retirement in 1988 and then went on to work at Carl’s Hardware, Columbus Grove. She was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and she also/ enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, landscaping and traveling with family. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and a Nurse Cadet during WWII. She also was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and VFW Auxiliary, Columbus Grove.
 She is survived by her daughters, Sue (Clark) Hassan, Ginger (Tom) Price, and Laurie (Randy) Frey; grandchildren, Marc (Chris Chambers) Hassan, Jeremy (Monica) Price, Nathan (Jennifer) Price, Ashley (Jacob) Wannemacher, Travis (Paige) Frey, Alyssa (John) Kreinbrink and step granddaughter, Nancy McCarthy; 21 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Robert Miller, Irvin Miller, Marjorie Klausing, Jeanette Klausing, Viola Miller; grandchildren, James Hassan, Jeffrey Hassan and Robin Price; and great granddaughter, Madeline Hassan.
 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, OH with visitation one hour prior at Hartman-Rousculp Funeral Home, 10879 St. Rt 12, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Fr. David Ritchie officiating. Visitation is also on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with Rosary Service at 8pm at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home.
