ANNETTA TUCKER

 MAUMEE (formerly of Ottawa) – Annetta E. Tucker, 84, of Maumee, passed away at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Kingston Rehabilitation Center of Perrysburg. She was born August 16, 1940, in Lima to the late Lester E. and Grace E. (Bowdle) Smith. On December 27, 1959, she married William Tucker, who survives in Maumee.
 Other survivors include a daughter, Ellen Tucker of Perrysburg; a brother, Edwin Smith of De Tour Village, MI; and a sister, Alice Dewar of Ottawa.
 In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Jan Smith; and brother-in-law, Forrest Dewar.
 Annetta and husband Bill met at Ohio Northern University as freshmen and married in December of 1959. She began teaching at age 19 in the cadet program and taught for over 50 years in northwest Ohio, tutoring and teaching the majority in the Ottawa-Glandorf school system. After retirement, she continued to be an active member in the OG Retired Teachers’ activities.
 Annetta and Bill opened Tucker’s Ottawa Pharmacy in 1976 and later Tucker’s Glandorf Pharmacy where they served the community for over 40 years. When the pharmacies sold in 2007, Annetta and Bill moved to Maumee, OH to enjoy retirement freedom and to be closer to daughter Ellen. Annetta helped build sets and sell tickets for Ellen’s drama productions at Oak Harbor High School. Annetta also enjoyed having time to participate in Maumee neighborhood get-togethers and car rides.
 Always avid travelers, the Tuckers spent summer vacations in Cedarville, MI and saw all 50 states along their adventures. Annetta and Bill enjoyed the past seven winters as snow birds in Bonita Springs, FL.
 This past December, they celebrated 65 years of marriage. The strongest, brightest, and kindest teacher, she penciled her life on the best of this world.
 Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor Tim Eding officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
