KALIDA – Angela E. Schroeder, 89 of Kalida, passed away at 9:26 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born April 27, 1935, in Paulding County to the late Jerome and Teresa (Erhart) Miller. On November 20, 1954, she married Richard H. Schroeder, he survives in Kalida. Angela is also survived by four children: Cynthia (Dennis) Rieman of Kalida, Gregory (Bonnie) Schroeder, Kim (Randy Brinkman) Nordhaus, both of Glandorf, Jill (Justin Cornwell) Jacobs of Lima; nine grandchildren: Kyle (Darcy) Schroeder, Seth (Lori) Schroeder, Brad (Kayla) Rieman, Nathan Nordhaus, Courtney (Lucas) Weis, Sara (Ryan) Brinkman, Madison (Ryan Bullinger) Jacobs, Erica (Jordan) Hermiller, and Nicole (Jerrod) Cass; eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings: Kenneth (Carol) Miller of Lima, Marge Stechschulte of Kalida, Janet (Jim) Cox of Findlay, Joan Waltman of Delphos, Sharon Griffith of Findlay, Carl (Nancy) Miller of North Carolina, Anne Craine, Anthony (Vickie) Miller, both of Findlay; and a sister-in-law: Linda Miller of Findlay. She is preceded in death by a sister, Delores (Vernon) Askins; two brothers, Paul (Rosie) Miller, and Robert Miller; two brothers-in-law, Dick Waltman and Paul Stechschulte; and a great-granddaughter: Kennedy Rose Schroeder. Angela was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida and its Altar Rosary, as well as the Ottawa VFW Auxiliary. She had retired as a payroll officer at the Putnam County Auditor’s Office.
Angela was an avid reader and enjoyed making quilts. She made quilts for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Angela was the queen of angel food cake making. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Phil Smith officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Kalida. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at LOVE- HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
