Bruce C. Meyers
LEIPSIC – Bruce C. Meyers, 74, of Leipsic, passed away at 7:52 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2025, at his residence. He was born March 19, 1951, in Lima to the late Clarence and Juanita (Burkhart) Meyers. On December 1, 1973, he married Susan Altman, who survives in Leipsic.
He is also survived by three children: Chad (Amanda) Meyers of Waynesville, Jeremy (Amy) Meyers of Findlay and Brent Meyers of Glandorf; three grandchildren: Max Meyers, Sara Meyers and Ayla Meyers; two step-grandchildren: Ethan Knoll and Noah Folck; two siblings: Beth (Ken) Korte of Leipsic and Sue (Marc) Garner of Willard; in-laws: Carl Altman of Leipsic, Cindy Altman of Findlay and Gloria (Jim) Carr of Kalida; campground grandchildren: Charlee and Joey Mareches; and his loving dog, Abby.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Madison Meyers; brother, Dale Meyers; and in-laws: Herbert (Velma) Altman, Donald Altman and Janet Altman.
Bruce worked for Louisiana-Pacific for 28 years. He also worked for the Leipsic Police Department part-time from 1974 to 2003 and then became a Deputy for the Putnam County Sherriff’s Office from 2003 to 2017. For 20 years, he was also a part-time bike assembler for Walmart, Ottawa. Bruce was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going camping, going for coffee in the morning at the Community Center in Leipsic and loved helping people.
Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday prior to mass at St. Mary’s Parish Life Center, Leipsic.
