Norma Jean Morgan
CONTINENTAL Norma Jean Morgan, 96 of Continental, died at 2:02 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born December 17, 1928 in Perry Township to the late Eber F. and Lana “Mae” (Schmidt) Winkle. On August 25, 1951, she married David Morgan and he died December 5, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Terri) Morgan of Continental; two grandchildren: Brittany (Isaac Jr.) Dockery and Ross (Catlyn) Morgan; and five great-grandchildren: Morgan, Maeci and Weston Dockery and Jaxon and Hadley Morgan; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Winkle as well as many special cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Mae Morgan; infant twin sons; a step-mother, Lucile Winkle; in-laws, Rev. David and Helen Morgan; two brothers: Kenneth (Mary Edith) Winkle and Joseph Winkle; and in-laws: Bill (Marilyn) Ewing, Stanley (Betty) Morgan and Naida Morgan.
Norma Jean graduated from Continental High School in 1946. Norma Jean was employed as the manager of Kircher’s Flowers in Continental for many years. She was a woman of great faith and enjoyed singing and playing old hymns, word search puzzles, sewing, and serving coffee and pie to her visitors. She had attended Christ United Methodist Church and then later the Free Christian Church of God, both of Continental.
Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Continental United Methodist Church, Continental with Pastor Monica Kleman and Pastor Jim Fry officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday at the Continental United Methodist Church.
