As noted in previous articles in this series, Gilboa actually had a newspaper for five years, from 1978 to 1983. It was called “The Gilboa Gazette.” The editor was Carey Arthur. Arthur noted that part of many of the editions included ‘retro-reporting,’ if you will. A historian at heart, Arthur was forever looking into the history of things, not only in Gilboa, but throughout Putnam County.
