PUTNAM COUNTY — On the upcoming November 5th ballot, Putnam County has two tax levies up for renewal. The first is a levy for the county’s Mental Health, Alcohol & Drug Addiction Treatment and Prevention Services, and the second levy is for the operational costs of Putnam’s countywide 9-1-1 communications system.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio’s minimum wage is scheduled to increase January 1, 2025, to $10.70 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.35 per hour for tipped employees. The minimum wage will apply to employees of businesses with annual gross receipts of more than $394,000 per year.
PUTNAM COUNTY — For the upcoming November 5th general election, this year is expected to be especially busy for Ohio with the Presidential election, a competitive supreme court election (6 candidates running for 3 seats), a tight Senate race and a constitutional amendment on redistricting on the ballot. At the state level, incumbents are seeing challenges, which includes Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno (R-OH) racing against Sherrod Brown (DOH) for his Senate seat.
In an election year in Ohio, there’s usually an issue on the ballot that will change the state’s constitution. In 2023, the issues were abortion access and marijuana legalization.
