The much-needed rainfall over the weekend has softened our soils in the area making now a perfect time to sample and test your soils! A soil test is a helpful resource when establishing or maintaining a garden, lawn, landscape, or cultivated field. For relatively little cost, soil tests provide invaluable information for homeowners, gardeners, and farmers by pinpointing nutrient and/or pathogen levels and providing recommendations on how to improve a soil’s condition.

KNAP Sack Food Distribution chosen as annual volunteer project by Regional Growth Partnership and JobsOhio

Ohio Cropland Values and Cash Rent

Every two years, Ohio State Economist Barry Ward surveys rural appraisers, agricultural leaders, professional farm managers, farmers, landowners, Farm Service Agency personnel, OSU Extension educators, and others on their knowledge of cropland values and cash rents. The latest survey was conducted from January to April, in 2024 with 131 participants. Barry had adequate data for only Northwestern and Southwestern Ohio. So not enough data was collected for other parts of the state.
