OTTAWA — Leipsic’s golf team turned in a solid round Friday during the third round of Blanchard Valley Conference tournaments. After a pair of third place finishes in the first two tournaments the Vikings moved up a rung to finish second in the third tournament at the Moose Landing Country Club.
OTTOVILLE — Ottoville controlled the fifth set Thursday to defeat Miller City in a Putnam County League match. The Big Green won the fifth set 15-7 to win the match.
VAN WERT — Ottawa-Glandorf’s girls cross country team placed six runners in the top 20 Saturday to win the team title at the Ohio Health Cross Country Invitational in Van Wert. With their strong showing the Lady Titans claimed the team title with 47 points as Lincolnview was the runner-up with 62 points in the 13 team field.
ARACADIA — Leipsic freshman quarterback Marc Kirkendall threw three touchdown passes Friday night to lead the Vikings to a 34-6 Blanchard Valley Conference win over Arcadia. Kirkendall was 18-of-23 passing in the game for 252 yards and the three scores.
OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf’s girls tennis team swept all three singles matches Thursday in defeating Bluffton 3-2 in non-league action. Junior Maggie Schmiedebusch picked up a win at first singles as she defeated Bluffton’s Rory Youngpeter 6-1, 6-3.
PANDORA — Arlington used a defensive play to tie Pandora-Gilboa to start the second half Friday night. The Rockets stopped the Red Devils comeback there as they scored the final three touchdowns of the night and their defense shut down the Red Devils in a 49-28 Blanchard Valley Conference win.
ST. MARYS — Ottawa-Glandorf needed a fourth quarter stop to overcome a deficit.
COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove took the lead on their opening drive Friday night. The Bulldogs didn’t stop there.
VAN WERT — Ottawa-Glandorf’s girls soccer team saw 14 players reach the scoring column Monday in a 14-0 Western Buckeye League win over Van Wert. Scoring goals for the Titans (6-0, 111) Monday were Makenna Siefker, Carlie Brinkman, Delaney Duling, Emma Heringhaus, Alaina Klass, Brea Recker, Liv Grothause, Maya Heringhaus, Karlee Maag, Gabby Steffan, Rilee Brinkman, Lola Kuhlman, Lauren Kimmet and Delaney Fruchey.
OTTOVILLE — Ottoville scored a pair of second half goals Saturday evening to defeat Riverdale 3-0 on Senior Night for the Big Green. The Big Green had a 1-0 halftime lead on an Alex Leis goal for before scoring twice in the second half.
