Deadly storms and floods, raging fires and extreme heat are becoming more frequent and intense due to the climate crisis and families are experiencing the effects.

ST. MARYS — Ottawa-Glandorf defeated St.
ELIDA — Ottawa-Glandorf’s girls tennis team from a loss earlier in the week to defeat Elida 3-2 in Western Buckeye League action. The Titans won both doubles matches as the first doubles of Jericha Walls and Courtney Miller claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win from the Bulldogs’ Ellen Troyer and Eva Campbell, while at second doubles the Titans’ Rylynne Verhoff and Abby Recker defeated Saige Bullock and Leila Staley 6-1, 6-0.
WAUSEON — Archbold won a three team girls golf match Thursday at the Ironwood Golf Course that included Miller City. The Blue Streaks won the match shooting a 177 as Patrick Henry had a 189 and Miller city a 198.

LEIPSIC — Leipsic’s Karmyn Brough notched her 1,000th career assist Tuesday evening in the Vikings 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 25-13 non-league win over Ayersville. Brough needed 39 assists entering the contest to reach 1,000 assists for her career and she reached that finishing the night with 46 assists.
CONTINENTAL — Continental scored a second half goal Friday night to defeat Miller City 2-1 in Putnam County League action. With the contest tied 1-1 in the second half the Pirates’ Collin Davis scored to give his team the lea.
PANDORA — Leipsic opened Putnam County League play Thursday with a 25-21, 26-24, 25-21 win over Pandora-Gilboa. Danaysia Danzy served up two aces for the Vikings (1-0, 5-0) on 7-of-8 serving along with 18 kills on 41-of-51 hitting with 15 digs.
OTTAWA — What a difference a week can be for a football team. After a tough opening week loss, Ottawa-Glandorf’s football team was looking to rebound as they opened Western Buckeye League play Friday night with Kenton.
