PUTNAM COUNTY — The Putnam County Office of Public Safety (PCOPS) is currently set to work with the village of Kalida to put a EMS team in the village’s fire station, and this goal of a west side EMS unit in Putnam County is a project that the PCOPS and the county commissioners have both been interested in for some time to have better emergency medical service coverage and better response times within the county. At present, PCOPS Director Brian Hilvers said that it can take ten to fifteen minutes for a EMS team to gear up and travel from their Ottawa-Glandorf station to calls on the western side of the county.
