OTTOVILLE — Ottoville grabbed a quick lead Wednesday afternoon in defeating Miller City 10-8 in non-league action.
The Big Green scored five times in the top of the first inning and used a three run fifth to widen their lead. Ottoville added single runs in the third and sixth innings. Miller City scored single runs in the third and fourth innings, added four runs in the fifth and scored twice in the sixth.
Alex Horstman picked up the win for the Big Green and Kyle Bendele recorded the save.
Horstman had a pair of doubles in the game and three RBI and Bendele had a single, double and four RBI. Luke Schimmoeller had two singles for the Big Green in the win.
Adam Drummelsmith took the loss for Miller City (2-2) as he went four innings allowing seven runs on six hits. Jacob Schimmoeller worked three innings in relief.
Hunter Berner and Schimmoeller both had a double for the Wildcats, while Jared Fuka and Logan Dukes both had singles.
