WBL track meet postponed

CELINA — The start of the Western Buckeye League track and field meet was pushed back one day due to weather conditions.
The two-day meet will now begin Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Celina. Wednesday's schedule will now be run Thursday as field events start at 4:30 p.m. and the 3200 relay at 5:30 p.m. to be followed by the running semi-finals. Friday will remain the same with the remaining field events at 4:30 p.m. and the running finals at 6 p.m.
The Ottawa-Glandorf boys will be out to defend their 2013 title as will the Celina girls. The Lady Titans will be looking to perform well and give the Lady Bulldogs a challenge for the title.
The Northwest Conference meet is scheduled to get underway Thursday at Spencerville.
Field events Thursday will start at 4:45 p.m. with running events starting at 5 p.m. The remaining field events will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the running finals starting at 12:30 p.m.
The Columbus Grove boys will be looking to defend their 2013 championship and the Lady Bulldogs will be looking to unseat defending conference Spencerville. The Grove boys and Lady Bearcats are two-time defending champions of the meet.
Blanchard Valley Conference
The Blanchard Valley Conference track and field championships will be held at Liberty-Benton High School on Friday.
Field events are slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the 4x800 relay at 5 p.m. Running semi-finals will start at 5:30 p.m. and the running finals will start at 7 p.m.
The Liberty-Benton boys and girls teams are out to defend their titles once again.
The league championships will lead to the start of district tournament action next week at several sites across Northwest Ohio.
