Three baseball teams advance to districts

GLANDORF — Ottawa-Glandorf scored three times in the third inning Friday afternoon on their way to a 9-1 win over Bluffton in the Division III sectional finals at the Field of Dreams in Glandorf.
The win sends the Titans (19-5) to the Division III district semi-finals at Ohio Northern University Thursday at 2 p.m. against St. Henry.
With the score tied 1-1, O-G broke through three runs in the third inning and they continued to add to it.
Matt Warnecke (6-2) picked up the win for the Titans. Brad Croy had four hits for O-G with three singles and a double.
Columbus Grove 6
KALIDA — Columbus Grove ended 18 years of frustration in sectional baseball tournaments Friday afternoon with a 6-0 win over rival Kalida.
The win advances the Bulldogs (15-11) to the Division IV district semi-finals at Elida where they will face Miller City at 4:30 p.m. This is the Bulldogs first trip to the districts since 1996.
Columbus Grove scored a run in the bottom of the first before adding three runs in the second inning.
Elisha Jones (4-2) picked up the win for the Bulldogs.
Randy Zeller took the loss for Kalida.
Miller City 4
MILLER CITY — Miller City will be making another trip to the district semi-finals after a 4-2 win over Leipsic Friday in the Division IV sectional finals.
The Wildcats (15-5) will face Putnam County League rival Columbus Grove at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elida. The first game Wednesday has Patrick Henry playing Holgate.
Miller City used single runs in the second and third innings for a lead they wouldn't lose.
Ross Lehman (7-1) picked up the win for the Wildcats as he allowed two runs on six hits with nine strikeouts.
Lehman had a home run for the Wildcats and Jackson Lammers added a double.
Grant Rader took the loss for Leipsic.
