PUTNAM COUNTY — Columbus Grove and Ottawa-Glandorf both will have five wrestlers heeded to Division III district action this next week.
The Bulldogs qualified five wrestlers and three alternates from the Division III sectional at Lima Central Catholic Saturday, while O-G advanced five wrestlers and one alternate from the Division III sectional at Lake High School.
The Bulldogs will compete in the district tournament at Troy, while O-G will compete in the district at the Stroh Center at BGSU Friday morning.
Advancing to the districts for the Bulldogs were Will Selhorst (182) with a second place finish. Brett Sampson was third at 126 pounds for Grove and Alec Gladwell was third at 170 pounds, while Preston Brubaker (106) and Tyler Schroeder (152) both finished fourth.
Andrew Burgei (160), Alex Burgei (195) and Andrew Nichols are all alternates for the Bulldogs.
Advancing to districts for the Titans were Derek Ebbeskotte (195), Logan Balbaugh (113), Ajan Brown (126), Jeremy Gibson (170) and Shaun Gibson (285). Le'on Palomo finished fifth and is an alternate to the district.
Ebbeeskotte won a sectional championship for the Titans as he defeated Gibsonburg's Jacob Auld 7-5. Balbaugh, Brown, Jeremy and Shaun Gibson all finished fourth.
