MILLER CITY — Bryce Riepenhoff finished off a big night in a grand way as Miller City defeated Ayersville 7-4 in non-league action.

Riepenhoff had three hits for the Wildcats Wednesday as his biggest hit was his last, which was a grand slam home run. After the Pilots had taken a 4-3 lead in the top of the inning, the Wildcats loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning, with one out, and Riepenhoff cleared them with his home run to left field.

Ayersville tied the game in the seventh inning and Miller City had the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh with one out only to have Ayersville escape the jam.

Mark Kuhlman picked up the win as he worked the eighth inning for Miller City (8-2). Jacob Schimmoeller started and went seven innings.

Jacob Kuhlman had a double and an RBI for the Wildcats and Cole Niese had an RBI. Justin Schnipke had a single and double for the Wildcats.

Kasey Williams had two doubles and drove in two runs for the Pilots (5-7) and Jacob Miller singled twice.

McComb 17

Pandora-Gilboa 7

MCCOMB — McComb scored nine times in the third inning on their way to a 17-7 Blanchard Valley Conference win over Pandora-Gilboa.

With the game tied at 6-6, the Panthers scored nine times in the third inning to take the lead for good. P-G had a 6-4 lead after scoring six times in the second inning. McComb tied the game in the bottom of the inning with two runs.

Gunner Stall took the loss for the Rockets as he worked 2 2/3 innings allowing 13 runs, six earned. Adam Schwab and Brennan Morman worked in relief.

Carter Nofziger had two singles, a double and drove in three runs. Dew Johnson had two triples and drove in two runs and Ryan Lee ha three hits. Morman had a single and RBI for the Rockets.

Columbus Grove 10

Continental 4

CONTINENTAL — Columbus Grove scored six times in the ninth inning Wednesday to defeat Continental 10-4 in Putnam County League action.

Both teams scored a run in the seventh inning to keep the game tied before the Bulldogs took control of the game with a six run ninth inning.

Jacob Otto picked up the win for the Bulldogs as he worked the final two innings not allowing a run or hit with two strikeouts. Brady Hauenstein started for Grove and went six innings and Kurt Griffith worked an inning in relief.

Reid Stechschulte just missed hitting for the cycle for the Bulldogs as he had two singles, a double, a triple and drove in three runs. Owen Fuerst had a triple for Grove, while Nick Woods had two singles, a double and drove in two runs. Wyatt Sybert had two singles and Emilio DeLaRosa had a single and double.

Cole Bowers (0-2) took the loss for the Pirates (0-4, 2-7) as he went an inning and a third. Nick States started for Continental as he went seven innings. Trevor Williamson and Jarret Keck worked in relief.

Williamson had a pair of doubles for the Pirates and Brady Dockery had a single and walked twice.

Lima Central Catholic 10

Ottoville 0

OTTOVILLE — Lima Central Catholic scored eight times in the fifth inning Wednesday on their way to a 10-0, six inning, non-league win over Ottoville.

The T-Birds had a 1-0 lead going to the fifth before they scored eight times in the fifth. LCC ended the game with a run in the sixth inning.

Andy Schimmoeller took the loss for the Big Green (0-9) as he went 4 1/3 innings. Dylan Kemper and Clayton Schnipke both worked in relief.

Schnipke had two singles for Ottoville, while Schimmoeller and Brad Boecker both had a single.

Leipsic 5

Van Buren 2

LEIPSIC — Leipsic grabbed an early lead on their way to a 5-2 Blanchard Valley Conference win over Van Buren.

The Vikings scored once in the first inning and twice in the second inning for a 3-0 lead. Leipsic made it 5-0 with two runs in the fifth before Van Buren scored twice in the sixth inning.

Tyler Hiegel picked up the win for Leipsic (5-1, 9-4) as he struck out five and allowed five hits. Grant Rader had two singles and an RBI for the Vikings, while Nick Schey had an RBI and Cole Rieman a double.

Brandon Bell had two triples for the Black Knights (4-3, 7-7), while Saige Warren and Angel Garcia both had a single and RBI.

Joshua Seitz took the loss for the Black Knights.
