SHAWNEE — Putnam County golfers played well at the season ending Lima Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions at the Shawnee Country Club.

In the boys 12-13 and 14-15 age groups, local golfers went one-two to finish the summer season.

In the boys 12-13 age group, Austin Radcliff, Ottawa, shot a 40 to win the age group by one stroke over Christian Nartker, Kalida, and Ryan Moody. Radliff finished his nine hole round with a par for his 40, as NArtker and Moody both bogeyed the final hole.

In a playoff for second place, Nartker defeated Moody to finish as the runner-up on the day.

In the boys 14-15 age group, Jeffrey Knueve, Kalida, defeated high school teammate Collin Nartker by two strokes for the win. Knueve finished the day with an 83, while Nartker shot an 85. Knueve was one stroke better than Nartker on the 16th and 17th holes for his two shot edge. Both players parred the final hole.

In the boys 16-18 age group, Joshah Rager and Spencer Stubb tied for low round of the day with 78s. Rager won the tournament as he defeated Stubbs in a playoff. Grant Ricketts finished third with a 79.

Wesley Markward, Ottoville, shot an 89 on Monday.

In the girls 15 and under division, Jill Schmitmeyer won with a 42 and Mary Kelly Mulcahy was second with a 49.

In the girls 16-18 age group, Emily Knouff was the winner with a 69 and Jennifer Mitchell was second with an 87.

The Lima Junior Golf Association helds its season ending banquet Monday evening at Shawnee as they handed out their awards for the summer.

Carter Bowman was the Male Player of the Year and Emily Knouff was the Female Player of the Year. Grant Rickets was the Oscar Schuefler Sportsmanship Award winner.
