CHILLICOTHE — Ottawa's American Legion baseball team suffered a pair of defeats Saturday at the Jadwin Memorial Tournament,
In their first game Saturday, Lancaster scored seven times in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for an 8-6. In their second game Saturday, Steubenville scored three times in the fifth inning for a 4-2 win.
In the opener Saturday, Post 63 had a 6-0 lead after three and a half innings before Lancaster scored their first run of the game. It stayed this way until the bottom of the sixth when Lancaster erupted for seven runs and the win.
Luke Schimmoeller took the loss for Ottawa and Ryan Rau worked in relief.
Trent Phillips had two hits and an RBI for Post 63, while Drew Schierloh and Ben Deitering both had two hits.
In their second game Saturday, Post 63 and Steubenville were tied going to the fifth inning when Steubenville scored three times. Post 63 scored their final run in the bottom of the fifth.
Matt Warnecke took the loss for Post 63 as he went 3 1/3 innings. Tanner Schimmoeller started and went three innings and Wes Rickenberg worked two-thirds of an inning in relief.
Brandon Benroth and Tyler Zender both had two hits for Post 63,
