COLUMBUS GROVE - Ottoville turned up their defensive pressure in the third quarter Saturday afternoon on their way to a 44-30 Putnam County League win over Columbus Grove.

The Big Green had a 19-14 halftime lead after opening the game with a 12-7 scoring run. Ottoville expanded its lead in the third quarter with a 17-7 scoring advantage.

Bridget Landin paced the Big Green (3-0, 11-0) with a game high 17 points.

Lauren Schroeder paced the Bulldogs (1-2, 5-6) with 11 points and Carlee McCluer added nine points.

Ottoville won the junior varsity game 29-26.

WAPAKONETA - Kalida had a strong third quarter as they rallied for a 42-36 non-league win over Wapakoneta.

The Redskins had a 23-20 halftime lead after outscoring the Ladycats 14-6 in the second quarter. Kalida regrouped in the third quarter to outscore the Redskins 15-3 for the lead. Kalida finished the game with an 11-10 fourth quarter scoring margin.

McKayla Maag paced the Ladycats with 13 points, four rebounds and three steals, while Sarah Klausing had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Lexi Jacobs had 16 points for Wapakoneta.

Kalida won the junior varsity game.
