DEFIANCE — An OHSAA approved softball umpiring course is being offered by the Fifth District Umpires Association. The OHSAA certified instructor will be Ned Ewers.
Adults and any high school student (14 years of age or older) are eligible for the class. [A participant 18 years of age and no longer enrolled in high school will attain a Class 2 Permit and will be eligible to umpire all levels of contests through high school varsity. A high school student will attain a Class 3 permit and may umpire Freshman/Junior High/Middle School games, (no JV or varsity.)]

Class sessions (total ~30 hrs) will be:

Sun 3/16/14  1:30-5:30 PM  Ayersville HS

Sun 3/23/14  1:30-5:30 PM  Ayersville HS

Tues 3/25/14  6:00-9:00 PM  Four County Career Center-MLC

3/24/14 – 3/29/14  Participants to complete required OHSAA on-line exams

Sun 3/30/14  1:30-4:30 PM  Ayersville HS  (Post class wrap-up session)

Some of the weekday evening sessions may be replaced with on-field work at practices, scrimmages, etc. - as can be arranged, at times and sites TBD. (As weather permits.)

Class fees will be $110.00.  [Covers all classroom materials, texts & registration fees with OHSAA.]
