OG scores in seventh to defeat Shawnee

GLANDORF — Ottawa-Glandorf plated a run in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Shawnee 2-1 in Western Buckeye League action Tuesday afternoon.
The win moves O-G to 4-0 in the WBL and 9-3 overall. Shawnee is 1-3 in the WBL and 7-7 overall.
Shawnee took a 1-0 lead in the third inning before the Titans tied the game in the bottom of the sixth. The Titans scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh as Matt Warnecke's single to center scored Austin Verhoff with the winning run. Verhoff was running for Ben Deitering, who started the inning with a single.
Brad Croy (3-0) picked up the win for O-G as he allowed one run on six hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Austin Williams had an RBI single and Tyler Zender had two hits for O-G.
Miller City 10
MILLER CITY — Miller City survived a late rally by Pandora-Gilboa Tuesday to claim a 10-8 Putnam County League win.
The Wildcats moved to 4-0 in the PCL and 8-2 overall, while P-G is 1-2 in the PCL and 5-6 overall.
Miller City had a 7-1 lead going to the fifth when the Rockets scored four times in the fifth. The Wildcats answered back with three runs before P-G scored three runs in the sixth for the final score.
Ross Lehman (4-1) picked up the win for Miller City as he worked 5 1/3 innings allowing eight runs, three earned, on six hits with 10 strikeouts and a walk. Jackson Lammers finished the game not allowing a run on two hits with two strikeouts.
Jared Fuka had two triples, a single and four RBIs for the WIldcats, while Jeremy Balbaugh had two singles and a double and Hunter Berner had a single and double.
Brian Schneck took the loss for P-G as he went the distance allowing 10 runs, five earned, on 11 hits with four strikeouts.
Reed Hovest had a single and double for the Rockets, while Alex Osborn had two singles.
OTTOVILLE — Leipsic scored a run in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday for a 5-4 Putnam County League win over Ottoville.
Leipsic had a 3-0 lead after four innings before the Big Green rallied to tie the game at 3-3 in the sixth. After both teams scored in the seventh inning, the Vikings pushed across the game winner in the eighth.
Schey picked up the win for Leipsic working two innings in relief.
Gavin Cupp had three hits for Leipsic, while Logan Selhorst, Alex Ellerbrock and Schey all had two hits for the Vikings.
Joel Beining took the loss for Ottoville as he worked four innings in relief.
Bendon Schnipke and Brandon Boecker both had two hits for the Big Green..
CONTINENTAL — Continental scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 10-7 non-league win over Paulding.
This was the Pirates first win of the season.
Austin Mansfield (1-3) picked up the win for the Pirates. Mansfield also had three singles, a double and two RBIs in the win. Gabe Williams and Terry Dockery III both had a single for Continental.
KALIDA — Trent Gerding's single in the bottom of the seventh helped rally Kalida for a 7-6 non-league win Tuesday over Lima Central Catholic.
The Wildcats trailed 6-4 going to their final at-bat before coming up with three runs for the win. Austin Swift had a two run single for the Wildcats to tie the game before Gerding's game winner to center that scored Brent Hovest.
Jeffrey Knueve picked up the win in relief. Noah Lambert had two hits for Kalida, while Hovest and Swift both had three RBIs.
