OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf's tennis team won their fourth Western Buckeye League match Thursday as they defeated Van Wert 4-1.
The Titans are 4-2 in the league and 6-2 overall.
O-G won all three singles matches in two sets against the Cougars.
At first singles, the Titans' Alex Schroeder defeated the Cougars Lane Mansfield 6-1 and 6-1, while at second singles O-G's Brandon Hempfling topped Van Wert's Erik Yeung 6-3, 6-1. At third singles O-G's John Schroeder defeated Van Wert's Brandon Amstutz 6-3, 6-1.
At first doubles, O-G picked up their fourth point as the Titans' Trevor Kuhlman and Connor Kuhlman defeated the Cougars Gabe Rollins and Nick Etter 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.
At second doubles, the Titans' Sammy Gable and Jonah VonderEmbse and Van Wert's Kory Schlatter and Ryan Keber also went three sets with the final two sets being decided in a tie-breaker. Van Wert won the first set 6-1 before O-G won the second set 7-6 (7-4). The Cougars claimed the point winning the third set 7-6 winning the tie-breaker 7-3.
