ARCHBOLD — Ottawa-Glandorf pulled away from Archbold in the second half Tuesday night to win a battle of Division III state ranked teams 40-28.
The Titans, ranked seventh in Division III, moved to 18-2 on the season, while the Blue Streaks, ranked fourth, slipped to 18-2 on the season.
Neither team could generate much offense the opening half as the two teams were tied 12-12 at halftime.
O-G started to pull away from the Blue Streaks in the third quarter with a 13-6 scoring advantage. The Titans closed the game with a 15-10 as they led by as many as 14 points in the final quarter.
O-G hit 15-of-16 free throw attempts in the game as Kristen Miller went 10-of-11 at the line. Archbold was just 7-of-11 at the line in the game. The Titans dominated the rebounding battle 24-9 as Archbold was unable to get many second chance opportunities.
Miller led the Titans with 17 points, three rebounds and three steals. Anna Bellman added six points. Elissa Ellerbrock pulled down five rebounds for O-G, while Erin Basinger and Danielle Schroeder both had four rebounds.
Cassidy Wyse had eight points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals for Archbold. Jesse Fidler also had eight points for Archbold.
Ottawa-Glandorf won the junior varsity game 40-22.
