CELINA — Ottawa-Glandorf's boys track team turned in a solid team effort Thursday and Friday at the Western Buckeye League meet in Celina.
The Titan boys got contributions from just about everyone competing as they defended their 2013 championship.
O-G finished the meet with 127 points as Celina was a distant second with 96 points.
On the girls side, the Lady Titans performed very well, but finished second to a strong Celina squad by the final score of 100-90.
The Titan boys scored in 16 of the 17 events to pull away from the field. After Matia Trampe-Kindt and Brad Recker finished one-two in the 800 meter for 18 points, O-G pretty much could celebrate the win.
While it was a team effort for the Titans, one athlete that stood out for O-G was Trampe-Kindt as he had three wins in the meet and a runner-up finish.
Trampe-Kindt joined Brad Recker, Sid Moening and Trevor Ellerbrock to win the 320 relay Thursday and he won the 160 meter run Friday in 4:27.02. He finished second in the 3200 meter run on 10:02.35 after running a 1:59 800 that established a new track record at Celina.
Other wins for the Titan boys came from Logan McDermott in the 110 HH (15.3) and Colin Laubenthal in the pole vault.
The Lady Titans scored in 13 of the 17 events at the WBL.
Megan Siefker, Michelle Maag, Elissa Ellerbrock and Madision Stechschulte combined to win the 800 relay (1:46.03) as they set a new track record in the process. Ellerbrock won the 400 in 1:00.01 and was second in the 800 ((2:28.59) and anchored the winning 1600 relay team of Kelly Schmitz, Anna Bellman and Stechschulte to the finish line in 4:09.68, two seconds better than what they qualified in Thursday.
Bellman also won the discus competition with a throw of 124-7.
