Leipsic girls claim PCL title

LEIPSIC — Leipsic's girls basketball team claimed the Putnam County League title Saturday evening with a 48-31 win over defending league championship Ottoville.
The win moves the Vikings to 6-0 in the league and 15-3 on the season. Leipsic claims the title as all the other teams in the PCL have two league losses. The Vikings final PCL game is against Kalida next Saturday. Ottoville dropped to 4-2 in the league standings.
Leipsic jumped out to an early lead in defeating the Big Green.

MILLER CITY — Wayne Trace grabbed a 22-14 lead after the opening quarter on their way to a 67-41 non-league win over Miller City.
Lauren Spiece had 14 points to lead the Raiders (12-5).
Chrissy Berger had a career afternoon for the Wildcats (1-15) with 20 points and seven rebounds. Haley Lammers pulled down eight rebounds.
KALIDA — Pandora-Gilboa outscored Kalida in the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon to claim a 41-35 Putnam County League win.
The Wildcats had a 29-27 lead after three quarters after outscoring the Rockets 19-11 in the third quarter. A 14-6 run by the Rockets in the fourth quarter helped them to the win.
Megan Maag had 15 points and six rebounds for the Rockets. Hunter Hermiller added 10 points to the P-G win.
Brittany Kahle led the Wildcats with 19 points. Allison Recker and Kylie Osterhage both had seven rebounds for Kalida.
CONTINENTAL — Continental outscored Paulding in the second half Saturday afternoon to claim a 50-42 non-league win.
With the game tied 23-23 at halftime, the Pirates outscored the Panthers 27-19 in the second half for the win.
Paige Ordway led the Pirates with 23 points.
