OTTAWA — Pandora-Gilboa grabbed an early lead and continued to build on that as the Rockets posted a 57-34 win over Van Buren in the Division IV sectional semi-finals at Ottawa-Glandorf Wednesday evening.
The Rockets advance to face McComb in the sectional finals Saturday evening at 8 p.m. at O-G. The Panthers advanced with a close 57-54 win over Patrick Henry in the first game Wednesday.
P-G grabbed a 14-10 first quarter lead and were up 28-17 at halftime. The Rockets continued to pull away in the second half.
Senior Megan Maag had a big night for the Rockets with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Olivia Maag added 13 points and Hunter Hermiller finished with nine points.
Niki Miller and Rachel Wymer both had nine points for the Black Knights.
PAULDING — Ayersville jumped out to a big first quarter lead Wednesday evening on their way to a 59-46 Division IV sectional semi-final win over Continental at Paulding.
The Pilots (19-3) advance to face Edgerton Saturday night at 8 p.m. in the sectional finals. The Bulldogs defeated Wayne Trace in the second game. Continental ends its season at 10-12.
Ayersville grabbed a double digit lead in the first quarter outscoring the Pirates 20-5. Continental cut into that lead in the second quarter with a 16-10 scoring advantage, but the Pilots regained control in the third quarter with a 16-11 scoring advantage.
Megan Schubert led the Pilots with 19 points, while Molly Hammersmith had 17 points, 12 rebounds, eight steals and four assists. Kylee Tressler finished with 13 points.
Paige Ordway had 18 points and five steals for the Pirates. Alex Quigley had nine points and Paige Kindilien had nine rebounds. Sloane Zachrich had four steals for Continental.
