  • COLUMBUS GROVE — Ottoville coach Todd Turnwald challenged his players at halftime of their Putnam County League game Friday night with Columbus Grove.

  • LEIPSIC — Leipsic built a huge first half lead, then held off an Arlington comeback in the second half to claim a 67-55 Blanchard Valley Conference win Friday night.
  • ADA — It went down to the final second, but the Ada boys basketball team lost a hard-fought home opener to visiting Kalida Friday night by a 62-59 count.
  • ADA — Columbus Grove had a big first half offensively Thursday evening as they rolled by Ada in the Northwest Conference for both teams 66-36.
  • ST. MARYS — Ottawa-Glandorf closed the first quarter with a 10-0 run that helped them to a 57-46 Western Buckeye League win over St. Marys Thursday night.
  • BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University women's basketball standout Abby Siefker has been named Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday (Dec. 7). Siefker, a senior, earns the honor for the first time in her BGSU career.
  • CONTINENTAL - Columbus Grove had a big first quarter Tuesday evening in handing Continental a 94-33 Putnam County League setback.

  • CONTINENTAL - Continental used a third quarter scoring advantage Saturday evening to defeat Lima Temple Christian 52-45 in non-league action.
  • KALIDA - Ottawa-Glandorf held Kalida to eight points in the second half Saturday as the Lady Titans rolled to a 44-22 non-league win.
  • LIMA — Ottoville used an extremely good shooting night Friday to defeat Lima Temple Christian 74-65 in the season opener for both teams.
  • CONTINENTAL — Continental and Paulding spent the majority of the first half exchanging points.
  • FINDLAY — Leipsic was unable to overcome a slow start Thursday evening in falling to Liberty-Benton 57-34 in the Blanchard Valley Conference opener for both teams.
  • COLUMBUS – The Greater Columbus Sports Commission has announced the honorary captains for each of this weekend’s OHSAA football state championship games, which kick off Thursday night at Ohio Stadium.
  • COLUMBUS GROVE - Columbus Grove turned in a solid defensive effort Tuesday evening in defeating Shawnee 66-29 in their season opener.
  • COLUMBUS – The season began in August with 716 teams suiting up for the 2016 football season.
