LEIPSIC — Columbus Grove broke open a close game late as the Bulldogs rolled to a 21-9 Putnam County League win over Leipsic.

The win allows the Bulldogs to finish unbeaten in the PCL at 6-0.

Coliumbus Grove had a 4-3 lead going to the fifth when they erupted for nine runs and a 13-3 lead. The Vikings responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning and the game went to the seventh inning at 13-7 before the Bulldogs scored eight times to secure the win.

Teyah Sautter picked up the win as she went the distance allowing nine runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts and four walks.

Danielle Bame had a monster day for the Bulldogs with a double, two home runs and eight RBIs. Bame had a solo home run in the first inning and a grand slam in the seventh. Madison Nusbaum had three hits and three RBIs, while Sautter, Emily Watt and Angel Schneider all had three hits and two RBIs,

Columbus Grove had nine extra base hits in the game.

Summer Steingass took the loss for Leipsic as she went the distance.

Kelly Scheckelhoff had a triple and home run for Leipsic with four RBIs. Heather Lammers and Stevie Brooks both had a double and Bailee Sickmiller had two hits and two RBIs.
