Toledo — Ian Richey signed a letter of intent on Saturday to become the third member of the Express men's soccer freshmen class.

The 5'11" Kalida, Ohio native played four years as a midfielder/forward for the Kalida High School Wildcats.  Under head coach Mark Czubik, Richey was a two-time First Team All-Putnam County League selection, as well as a one-time First Team All-District, one-time Second Team All-District, and one-time Second Team All-Ohio Division II selection.  He also served as a team captain in his senior season at Kalida. This past season, his game-winning penalty kick goal helped Kalida advance to the regional finals.

Richey will join an Express men's soccer team coming off a 15-6-1 season, where the team advanced to the Region XII tournament championship game for the first time since 2007.

Richey will also continue a Kalida High School tradition in the Express soccer program. Tyler Kortokrax, a 2012 Kalida graduate, played for the Express men's soccer program the past two years, while Erika Brinkman, also a 2012 graduate, played the past two years for the women's soccer program.
