NORTH BALTIMORE —Kalida scored fist in its Division IV softball sectional semi-final at North Baltimore Monday. But the lead was short-lived.

The Tigers answered back in the bottom of the inning and continued to add to the lead as they posted an 11-1 win. The win sends the Tigers (8-12) to the sectional finals where they will face third seeded Miller City (10-6) Thursday at 5 p.m. at Miller City.

Kalida scored a run in the top of the first inning before the Tigers bounced back to score three times in the bottom of the inning. North Baltimore broke the game open with six runs in the fourth inning.

Cheyenne Hernandez (5-3) picked up the win for the Tigers as she allowed one run on one hit. The lone hit for Kalida came in the fourth inning as Nicole Recker singled.

Hanna Brian had a double, two singles and four RBIs, while Jasmine Bretz had a two run double.

Sam Nagy took the loss for Kalida.
