KALIDA — Kalida turned in a solid defensive effort Tuesday night to capture the Putnam County League girls soccer championship with a 4-0 win over Continental.

The Ladycats finished league play at 4-0 and are 8-4-4 overall, while the Pirates, the defending league champs, slipped to 2-1-1 in the league and 6-8-1 overall.

Kalida's defense was excellent in the win allowing the Pirates just two shots on goal in the contest, while Kalida was taking 24 shots at the Continental goal. Kalida goalie Bailey White had two saves and Angel Brzozowski had 16 saves for the Pirates.

Madison Langhals and Megan Schulte both had a goal and assist for the Ladycats, while Lauren Langhals and Hannah Warn both had a goal. Taylor Zeller and Kyle Fortman had assists for Kalida in the contest.

COLDWATER— Kasey Knippen scored a pair of goals Tuesday as Ottoville topped Coldwater 3-1 in non-league action.

Nicole Williams added a goal to the Big Green win and Megan Burgei had two assists.

Janelle Halterman scored for the Cavaliers.

Ottawa-Glandorf 3

Elida 2

GLANDORF — Ottawa-Glandorf scored with 38 seconds left Tuesday evening to give the Titans a 3-2 Western Buckeye League win over Elida.

O-G improves to 3-6 in the WBL and 3-9-4 overall.

Caitlin Bockrath scored the game winner for the Titans with 38 seconds left to play. Elida tied the contest with 3:16 when Jency Jenkins scored her second goal of the contest.

Hannah Maag and Lauren Siefker scored goals for O-G and Bockrath had an assist.

Elida outshot the Titans 14-9 as Titan goalie Kadie Hempfling had 12 saves and Elida goalie Erika Suever had six saves.

O-G won the junior varsity contest 3-2.
