    TIFFIN - Fort Jennings struggled out of the gate to start the 2014 soccer season.

  • Lady Titans roll into regional finals
    OTTAWA HILLS - In their two district tournament games, Ottawa-Glandorf had to play from behind. 
  • COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- How a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters rates Ohio high school football teams in the seventh weekly Associated Press poll of 2014, by OHSAA divisions, with won-lost record and total points (first-place votes in parentheses): 
  • FINDLAY — The University of Findlay football team suffered a heartbreaking 42-36 loss at home to Grand Valley State University on Oct. 25 in Donnell Stadium. The loss gives the Oilers a 4-4 record on the year with a 3-4 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. 
  • KALIDA — Fort Jennings outscored Kalida 2-1 in penalty kicks Saturday afternoon to claim a 2-1 Division III district championship from the Wildcats. 
  • CELINA — Ottawa-Glandorf and Kalida were involved in a defensive struggle during their Division III district final at Celina Saturday afternoon. 
  • ST. MARYS — It was a total team effort for Ottawa-Glandorf Friday night at St. Marys. 
  • COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove took a big step in securing a spot in the Division VII playoffs in November. 
  • PUTNAM COUNTY — The three remaining Putnam County volleyball teams all suffered setbacks Thursday evening during district action in Ottawa and Kalida. 
  • CELINA — Ottawa-Glandorf and Kalida posted wins Wednesday evening in the Division III girls district semi-finals at Celina. 
  • KALIDA - Fort Jennings and Kalida advanced to the district finals in Division III with wins over county rivals Wednesday evening. 
  • HIRAM, OHIO -- Over the weekend as part of Homecoming festivities, the Defiance College Athletic Department announced that  for the second year in a row, that Kim Bingley again is the "Female Athlete of the Year"  This Award is for the 2013-14 school year.
     
  • COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its weekly football computer ratings Tuesday, Oct. 21. The weekly computer ratings are released every Tuesday afternoon beginning after the fourth week of the season, leading up to the final report on Sunday, Nov. 2.

     
  • OTTAWA — Leipsic's volleyball team was six points away from being swept Tuesday evening in the Division IV district semi-finals at Ottawa-Glandorf.
