PUTNAM COUNTY — Conference wrestlings tournaments for the Northwest Conference and Western Buckeye League will be held Saturday.

The 2014 Northwest Conference Wrestling Championships will be held for both the junior varsity and varsity levels at Allen East High School. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed through the day until champions are crowned in all weight classes.
The Columbus Grove High School and junior varsity teams will compete in the meet.

Paulding is the defending NWC champ in wrestling edging out Spencerville by a 256.0 to 254 score last year.  Paulding is the third school to hold the championship in the last three years with Delphos Jefferson taking the title in 2012 and Allen East in 2011.

The WBL wrestling tournament will be held Saturday at Kenton. The tournament starts at 10 a.m.
Ottawa-Glandorf will be one of ten teams competing in the day long event.
Heading into the league meet, Defiance leads the field as they went through the dual match portion of the season undefeated at 9-0. Bath is 8-1, while defending league champion Wapakoneta went 6-2 in dual meet action. The WBL title is based on the regular season dual meet records and tournament finish.
